LITTLE G'S
A perfect introduction to Irish Dance for children aged 2.5 - 5 years.
Our Little G's class is for your little one who loves to move! This is a very special class for our tiniest dancers with a focus on learning, growing and developing in a fun, nurturing, social and exciting environment. Our Little G's learn to move to the music whilst learning Irish dance basics and rhythm through a range of games and activities designed to excite, engage and develop integral skills for dance and life.
BEGINNERS
Classes for school aged children ready to dance!
This class is for school aged children starting Irish Dance for the first time. Dancers will begin to learn the basics of Irish dance with steps taught and combined with music. We develop coordination, balance, fitness, memory skills and rhythm whilst teaching fundamental Irish dance techniques in an exciting and nurturing environment.
PRIMARY
Get ready to make some noise!
As dancers progress in to Primary, we further develop the skills taught in our Beginner classes and introduce the basic techniques required for hard shoes. Dancers will learn more intricate soft shoe steps and we focus on building strength and balance whilst learning their first hard shoe dance.
JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
For our junior competitive dancers.
This class is for our Junior Championship dancers who will compete in State, National and International Championships, as well as local competitions and grade exams. Dancers will show a high level of commitment and determination to their training as we perfect technique, increase strength and reach an optimum fitness standard to help each dancer become the best dancer they can be. At this level, dancers will attend at least three classes a week (including a team class) which will incorporate technical drills, fitness, strength work, teamwork and fun!
SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
For our senior competitive dancers.
This class is for our Senior Championship dancers who will compete in State, National and International Championships, as well as local competitions and grade exams. We continue to perfect technique, increase strength and work towards reaching an optimum fitness standard to help each dancer achieve their goals. At this level, dancers will attend at least three classes a week (including a team class) which will incorporate technical drills, fitness, strength work, teamwork and fun! In addition to their own dance training, we also offer our Senior Dancers the opportunity to assist teaching our junior classes which furthers their skills as both a dancer and as the future teachers of the Academy.
TEAMS
Teamwork makes the dream work.
Teams are an integral component of our Academy for all our dancers no matter their age or skill level.
Team classes are a great source of fun, friendship and fitness whilst also teaching dancers the true meaning of commitment and respect for ones self and their team members.
All dancers are taught traditional Irish team dances throughout the year in all classes. It is, however, a pre-requisite for our Junior and Senior Championship Dancers to participate in a weekly teams class in preparation for State and National Championships.
